Because the pole has a spiked end, you can easily plant it in the sand or ground. However, we suggest using an anchor screw or parasol base for extra stability. EASY TO ASSEMBLE & LIGHT TO CARRY: Forget about fiddling around and working out what goes where because the parasol is incredibly easy to assemble. It comes in two parts with a plastic connection knob to easily screw them together. A travel bag is also included. Refunds
