Introducing the Blackcurrant 'Ben Sarek', a fantastic compact variety perfect for any garden, including smaller spaces and container growing. This vigorous plant produces an abundance of glossy, dark berries with a rich flavour, ideal for eating fresh, making jams, or using in culinary creations. The fruits are produced on short strings, making them incredibly easy to pick, and the plant itself is known for its resistance to frost and mildew. How to Grow: - Light: Prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade. - Temperature: Protect from late spring frosts to ensure fruit set. - Watering: Keep consistently moist, especially during dry periods and when fruit is developing. - Feeding: Incorporate well-rotted manure or compost into the soil before planting. - Humidity: Ensure good air circulation to minimise the risk of mildew. This reliable blackcurrant variety is exceptionally easy to care for and will reward you with bountiful harvests for many years.
